Cardiff by the Sea Lodge - Our Staycation

We had a great staycation at Cardiff By The Sea Lodge. This recently upgraded boutique hotel is just a 25-minute drive from where we live, and we enjoyed our time there. We recently returned from a hiking trip, so this time, we decided to plan a relaxing itinerary: 1. Broadstreet Doughnut Co. - Yummy donuts (made to order). 2. Moonlight Beach - Sipped our coffee at the beach. 3. Union Kitchen and Tap - Had a great lunch, then walked along the shops down the street. 4. Coastal Rail Trail - Enjoyed a nice stroll. 5. Swami's Beach - Watched the surfers 6. Encinitas Library - Checked out an art display. 7. Cardiff By The Sea Lodge - Checked in to our hotel and went up to the rooftop. 8. The Chart House - Ended the day with a delicious dinner. The next day, we had complimentary juice and muffins delivered to our room. We walked to Rose Hill Purveyors (across the street) to get coffee and went back up to the rooftop for the ocean views. We also walked to VG donuts to get some treats and walked to the Seaside Market to get the famous "Cardiff Crack." They are known for their marinated tri-tip, so we decided to buy some and cook it at home. It was a relaxing staycation!
