Mosses are seedless non vascular plants that can be found all over the world in damp moist environments. Mosses have a unique life cycle in which the haploid stage (the gametophyte, n ) is the dominant generation. Once the egg is fertilized, a diploid sporophyte develops (2n) and produces spores which are dispersed into the surrounding environment. The moss life cycle is as follows: Spore - Protonema - gametophyte - Sporophyte The magnification of each clip is included in the bottom right hand corner.
