Hello beauties!! Well, I spent my first Christmas away from home/America in December 2014. And let me tell you, it was definitely a bitter/sweet feeling. Being away from your family is never easy, specially during the holidays. Every culture is very different!!! For example, here in America, Christmas is all about the presents (lots of presents), and God forbid that you don't have a Christmas tree, or at least a dozen lights wrapped around your yard and home. Christmas in Guatemala was simply about food, family, and fireworks at Midnight. I saw ONE Christmas tree in the Central Park of the City- Tejutla, no presents, and no Christmas tacky sweaters, or Christmas hats. But to be completely honest, it was a wonderful experience to be able to put all that aside, and just soak in the richness of love within the families. There were actual conversations, fellowship, and moments of prayer. And to me that is what Christmas is all about. Would I spend another Christmas away from home though? That is yet to be determined! I hope you can enjoy this heart felt video of my experience. Yes, it is lengthy, but I tried my best to really capture every moment!
