BAYANGAN ISLAND, Labason | a quick isla trip!

An unseen paradise in Labason, Zamboanga del Norte 🌴 HOW TO GET THERE: 1. It’s best to coordinate with the Municipal Tourism specially if you’re not familiar with the island and the municipality itself prior to your scheduled day of visit. They will also refer you a pumpboat. Though there are many boats you can charter, The Bayangan beach Resort and Hotel also has their new boat exclusive for your island trip with a cheap fare back and forth! 2. You can ride a public bus/mini bus to Labason Terminal, then take a motorsikad going to the port. Travel time from Labason port to the island is within 20 - 30 mins, depending on the sea condition. 3. Upon arrival, you have to pay an entrance fee fir P15. There’s a new resort there, a sort of extension of the Bayangan Resort, they have different rooms and cottages. You can also bring your tents if you wish to go for a camping vibe, the place is huge enough for your barkada/family outing. You can also tour around the island in less than an hour. 4. In terms of the security, the island is patrolled and guarded with military personnel, the MDRRMC Labason also has their barracks there. There are locals who sell different seafoods, specially bulad and fresh fishes from their catch. 5. You can also see turtles swimming on the other corner of the island, depending on their season. IMPORTANT NOTE: 1. Leave NO traces of you in the island upon your departure. Meaning, throw your trashes properly, never litter for the island is surrounded with fishes, and other animals are also living there. Practice the Clean as You Go Policy. 2. BRING enough drinking water during your stay, specially if you wish to stay over night. There is no enough water supply in the island, the locals depend only on their weekly water supply, and sometimes, water from the rain. BRING flashlight, emergency light, powerbanks, etc. The island depends on a solar power. And so, their electricity supply is also limited. During our trip, the MDRRMC Labason through the LGU accompanied us that is why we didn’t pay for our boat. Big thanks to the MDRRMC headed by sir Bugarin, my LGU and Tourism Family, specially sir Hermon Abaya for assisting us! Truly, the island is one of the underrated and unexplored places in the #philippines . If you wish to go for an island trip without spending more than a thousand peso, Bayangan Island will be your best choice. 🌴 So much more to see in Zamboanga del Norte PS: forgot to vlog, luckily I got clips from the trip! 😅 promise to be more detailed on my next videos.
