Pumping down the line is an essential skill for surfskaters to generate speed and flow on the flat or downhill sections. Follow these steps to train your pumping technique. 1. Open your hips forward to initiate the pump. 2. Shift your weight onto your front foot as you push down. 3. Bend your back to create more space and compression. 4. Keep your hands down and close to the board to maintain control. 5. Shift your weight onto your back foot's toes and move shoulders to toes side rail. 6. Raise your hand to keep balance in your pump. 7. Take your hand forward to enhance momentum. 8. Move your chest over your front knee to complete the pump and start another one. With practice and repetition, you will improve your pumping technique and feel more comfortable and confident on your surfskate.
