This was a little later in the afternoon than I usually take my test rides, and I expected the main road to be quite busy so I went this way, giving me a good opportunity to make much use of the gearbox which never missed a gear. The brakes also proved to be very good, having not been dismantled for cleaning yet. The engine is one of those that would like to be kept on the boil - there are so many variations among these engines, with some quite happy to thump and plod along while running out of steam higher up the rev band, and those like this which feel as if they will just rev more and more. Just as I started getting into my stride on it, a clattering noise while cornering turned out to be the centre stand digging into the road, thanks to a weak return spring, so that will definitely be dealt with! Our canine companion also made an appearance and gave chase, which was nice to see, as some viewers had been expressing concern at his / her absence from my recent ride videos covering this route!
