RUBBISH IN ROTHERHAM | Rotherham United 2-0 Birmingham City | Blues Focus Matchday Vlog

VOTE FOR US IN THE FCA's 2022 - https://footballcontentawards.com/voting On August 27th, Rotherham United beat an abysmal Blues side who throughout the game lacked strength, determination, and a gameplan it seemed for most parts of the game. We set off for South Yorkshire around twelve. Strangely it’s one our closest games this season. We had a laugh about what game we were expecting it to be. Dad thought it could be a 2-2 Stoke away, whereas Jack and I thought it’d be Peterborough away! Newly promoted side, goal down inside a minute, lose 3-0! We parked up (free parking too) and headed to the ground. The 🎶 New York 🎶 stadium. Been there a few times now. It’s decent, I like it. Of course, the last time we went was the day we stayed up under Monk. We won 3-1 with goals from Maghoma, Jota, and Mrabti. None of whom play for us anymore! How much has changed in three years. We got there after Dad, once again, struggled with the complicated ticket machine. To be honest it was confusing. Didn’t know where too scan it. Usually with those electronic gates there’s a red scanning light that turns green when it’s scan, but this one didn’t have that. But we eventually all worked it out and went to the bar for some drinks. But they had no booze! Incredible, fancy watching the Blues sober? And god knows, I needed one watching that. The game kicked off and immediately you could tell the cobwebs were still there, and before you knew it the first goal came. Which enraged the whole away end because of how obvious it was to prevent it as the corner before there was a completely free header for Rotherham that was tipped over by Ruddy. They took it short, and picked out Wood who nodded it in from about a inch off the line. Nothing Ruddy could do, he was man of the match. The person who it enraged the most was Dad. I didn’t show much of his reaction because he asked me on the way home not to. He said he didn’t want to appear like a mad man, which he was! But he wasn’t wrong, in fact he was spot on. He pointed out where Roberts should be before the corner was took and when that ball hit the back of the net we all went mad! We then just couldn’t keep the ball and it’s a miracle we didn’t concede more. It should’ve been like Peterborough away last season, we’re lucky it weren’t another Blackpool! There’s an apathetic feel amongst most fans and who can blame them watching that? You just feel so helpless sitting in those stands. It’s like you’re screaming in a noise sealed room. The fans booed them off at half time and booed them back out. We looked a tad better. Hogan had two opportunities that he squandered, Bacuna blazed the rebound on the second one. I say this in the vlog, placement not power. Yes, use your laces but pick a bottom corner, use your technique and you’ll score. Josh Williams worked his heart out. He went on two lung busting runs, in which he forced a throw for us on the second. George Hall did his all too. James was tidy in the midfield, and Ryan Stirk put in some challenges when he came on towards the end. Another sub appearance for Jobe too but there was little impact he could do in the few minutes he had. Marc Roberts was foolish in giving away the penalty, but big man of the match, John Ruddy denied the two goal deficit… for eight minutes when Wood popped up for his second headed goal of the game. It was difficult to see what happened from up the other end of the ground, and I’ve yet to see the highlights. They’ve not been released as of writing this. The whistle was blown signalling the end of another ninety minutes. Signalling another Blues defeat. The fans were mixed towards the players at the end. Some clapped, some clapped only specific players, some were having none of it like Jack. He said, just go away, I don’t care. Just leave it. Which in fairness, I can agree with. Perhaps just a quick clap and then go, rather than a five minute one. Jack was his usual passionate self though. Starring into Jordan Graham’s soul, beating his chest, shouting something at him, I couldn’t work it out. I agree with all of what he says, but it always makes me laugh looking at him getting all cross and passionate! He’s a proper fan, he is. Well, what’s next? Norwich at ho… oh for the love of… Well that’s going to be fun, isn’t it? Who knows maybe we can pull our fingers out and put a better performance in on Tuesday night, but it does look worrying that.
