The Bennington Battle Monument was built starting in 1887 to commemorate the Battle of Bennington. The massive tower is built from stone that was cut into blocks at the site. Tourists from around the world visit the monument and ride the elevator to the top. This Place in History is produced in partnership by Local 22 & Local 44 (www.mychamplainvalley.com) and the Vermont Historical Society.
