It is formed by the merging of waters from the Kitul Canal and Hunumadala River, descending from nearby peaks. Sera Ella splits into two streams, each falling from a height of 10 meters. This dual waterfall can be viewed from the dense Dumbara Jungle, making it even more enchanting. The waterfall is especially powerful during the monsoon season from November to March, showcasing nature's strength and beauty. A special feature of Sera Ella is the cave behind the waterfall, accessible by carved steps. Visitors can go behind the falling water and experience the cascade up close. The name Sera Ella has different origins. Some say it comes from the 'Sera' fish found in its waters, others believe it resembles the fall of lemon grass leaves, and some think it refers to the scattering of Sera seeds.
