Pianist and keyboarder Jason Linder has arranged Donny McCaslin's compositions for the BigBand. Turn it on and be part of it! "Blackstar" was David Bowie's last album and was released two days before his death on January 8, 2016. Donny McCaslin and Jason Lindner were instrumental in making this clearly jazz-oriented album a global success. When they meet the the Frankfurt Radio Bigband in Frankfurt this time, it's about Donny McCaslin's own music, which hasn't been the same since his encounter with Bowie, where jazz and indie pop enter into fruitful connections everywhere. McCaslin's adept pianist and keyboarder Jason Lindner transfers her into big band format. Since being named a "Rising Star" by the US magazine "Downbeat" (2015), Lindner has been one of the most interesting big band leaders in New York City. __________________________________________________________ Ein Konzert der hr-Bigband mit den beiden US-amerikanischen Musikern Donny McCaslin und Jason Lindner. Der Pianist und Keyboarder Jason Linder hat Donny McCaslins Kompositionen für die BigBand arrangiert. Schaltet ein und seid dabei! »Blackstar« war das letzte Album von David Bowie, es erschien zwei Tage vor dessen Tod am 8. Januar 2016. Dass dieses deutlich jazz-orientierte Album zu einem Welterfolg wurde, daran haben Donny McCaslin und Jason Lindner entscheidend mitgewirkt. Wenn sich die beiden dieses Mal in Frankfurt mit der hr-Bigband treffen, dann geht es um Donny McCaslins eigene Musik, die indes seit dessen Begegnung mit Bowie nicht mehr ist wie zuvor, in der Jazz und Indie-Pop allenthalben fruchtbare Verbindungen eingehen. Ins Bigband-Format übertragen wird sie von McCaslins versiertem Pianisten und Keyboarder Jason Lindner. Der zählt seit seiner Auszeichnung als »Rising Star« durch das US-amerikanische Magazin »Downbeat« (2015) zu den interessantesten Bigband-Leitern in New York City.
