The Village of Gambleside is or was situated between Rawtenstall and Burnley. Quite a lot of it was abandoned int he 1860's to build;d a new Reservoir. Bit by bit the rest of the village and outlying farms fell into disuse and are now nothing more then piles of stones on the Reservoir gathering ground. However these farms have a story to tell and were once the homes of people who played a big part in Rossendale and Burnley History. We have a look at two of them today along with other remains of industry nearby
