If you are a full time dad, or nan you probably have similar experience. Raising a child is never easy, and people who don't know this experience can see the time you've got on your hands while your children are away. However often, as a parent, having plans doesn't stop us from a freeze response. Then we barely can do anything apart from binge watching, phone scrolling and eating snacks. I am not saying that this happens every time children go to their dad, but if emotions of this type arise, the best thing you can do is acknowledge them. Let them be. If you need to cry, do it. Your body has an amazing system of regulation. Trust it.
