Carmyllie Pilot Inauguration Day 22nd June 2024 at The Strathspey Railway

After 40 years Class 2 Ivatt 46464 "The Carmyllie Pilot" steams again on her reveal day at The Strathspey Railway. The day was delayed as sister Ivatt 46512 was discovered to hav needed some work which was quickly completed. Hot work! The timetable required a small shift but 46464 and 46512 stared the 1st service run together. Iain Smith, Director, inaugurated the engine at Boat of Garten as she rolled in from Morley's Yard. 46464 was turned and piloted 46512 on the double header at 18.30 on a round trip to Broomhill. Excellent day. Thanks to the footplate crew from the Strathspey Railway.
