The History and Future of Urbanization in Asia (1960-2050)

The video shows the timelapse of urbanization (% change of urban population) throughout Asia from 1960 to projected 2050. Urbanization refers to the population shift from rural to urban areas, the corresponding decrease in the proportion of people living in rural areas, and the ways in which societies adapt to this change. It is predominantly the process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more people begin living and working in central areas. Note: the data corresponds to current regions. For example, the data of Russia during the Soviet Union corresponds to only the Russian region of the USSR.
