Racing is awesome. It's also expensive, time consuming, exhausting, and difficult to do on a regular basis. Still, even knowing all of that it's something that once you do one time, you'll want to do as often as you can. That's where a series like the 24 Hours of LeMons comes into play. I'd raced in LeMons many years prior and it left a lasting impression on me. In fact, I'd run two races and the itch to go back to wheel-to-wheel remained ever since. I finally got to scratch that itch when I trekked up to Sonoma to join my teammates for a new weekend of racing. Our car? A 1962 Ford Ranchero. Under the hood sits a not-very-powerful 200 cubic-inch straight six, and it's backed up by a three-speed manual gearbox... with the shift lever located on the steering column. Three on the tree, baby!
