Matty Healy from 1975 describes a 'Bro Job' – Attitude LGBTQ Slang Challenge | S1 E8

Matty Healy 1975 Attitude LGBTQ Slang Challenge | S1 E8 As one of the world's biggest bands, The 1975 share an intensely close bond with one another - but after learning the meaning of the term 'bro job', frontman Matty Healy might have a more personal form of pre-show ritual in mind for the group. As he takes part in latest episode of Attitude's LGBTQ Slang Challenge, which sees stars attempt to guess the meaning of queer phrases, the Manchester-born musician learns the meaning 'bro job' - the term for when two straight friends engage in a bit of casual oral sex - and jokes he'd be happy to "introduce" the term to his mates. Asked to define the meaning of the phrase, Matty replies: ""It's getting noshed off by your mate. Is it? Is it?" The 29-year-old goes on: "God, I need to introduce you to my mates, we'd have a way better time. Introduce them to the 'bro-job': 'Come on mate, it's not gay, I've been told by gay people it's not gay, it's just a bro-job'. Matty Healy, shot by James Anastasi for Attitude's January 'Activists & Allies' issue, out now "That'll be us, before we go on [stage], The 1975 bro-jobbing each other." It's not just bro jobs Matty gets an education in as he takes part in Attitude's LGBTQ Slang Challenge, as the 'Love It If We Made It' singer attempts to guess the meaning of words like 'Otter' and 'Autosexual' (Is that a raised hand we see?) Matty, who identifies as straight, opens up about his own open-minded approach to sexuality in Attitude's January 'Activists & Allies' issue, out now to download and to order globally, revealing that while he's not interested in men sexually, he's happy to lock lips with them and appreciate their beauty. "I don't really talk about my sexuality that explicitly because I don't really have to and all things are subject to change", he says. “I have this objective view of beauty. There is this amazing book you should read called On Beauty and Being Just, by Elaine Scarry. "It’s an essay on beauty and how, when presented with beauty, we have this reaction of reciprocation. We want to follow it, revise our position to stay in view of it. You want to fuck it, make another one. “I see things as objectively beautiful, so men can be objectively beautiful. Sometimes, I see men and I’m like, ‘F*** me, he’s peng!’” he exclaims. “Then sexuality gets changed for me because I would, and have, kissed beautiful men, but I don’t want to f*** them. It stops for me when it comes to [sex]."
