Did you know that histiocytes often show granular blushy staining with CD31 immunostain? It's been described in the literature but many pathologists are still not familiar with this. It can be prominent enough to cause confusion with a vascular tumor in some cases unless one is aware of this trick. Comparison with intensity of CD31 staining in the normal background vessels is the key. Additional vascular stains can be helpful also in difficult cases.
