This song didn't make it to the final movie cut of the highly acclaimed Talking Heads concert film "Stop Making Sense". On the original setlist, "The Book I Read" comes after "Love Goes to Building on Fire" (which didn't make it to the movie either). For "The Book I Read" background singer Edna Holt joins the band on stage. "Slippery People" comes after "The Book I Read", and both background singer Lynn Mabry and percussionist Steve Scales come on stage.
