3D Creature Crocorilla Modeling Timelapse / PART 1 / Box Modeling

Welcome to the 3-part-series Timelapse of the creation of the Crocorilla, a Crocodile and Gorilla hybrid (in the spirit of Monsterverse's Kong vs Godzilla). This is a game-asset model made for Interstella Pi labs, an upcoming indie game development team that I am a part of. Therefor, the goal is to keep the model at low to mid poly count, using Normal map to display the skin details, then rig and animate as a playable character in one of our game project (currently unnamed). In part 1, we go through the process of box modeling the entire creature. Unlike a more typical workflow, because I had lot of experience in box modeling back when I first started learning 3D, instead of sculpting the creature and then retopologize it, I can use box modeling to create the model with clean topology. Then I will use Multresolution sculpting to give it skin details, bake Normal map and finally texture using Photoshop. Rigging was done using Auto Rig Pro add-on and will not be covered in this Timelapse series. Modeled with Blender 2.83, Textured with Photoshop. Did you enjoy my creation?
