Grand Canyon Backpacking Trip November 2023 Part 2: The Bottom of the Canyon

We spent the second day of the trip exploring and enjoying the bottom of the canyon. We could easily have spent several days camped on the bottom (assuming we could get a back country permit for that long) just to explore all the hiking trails within the canyon. This video just scratches the surface of all there is to see and do inside the canyon. It's an incredibly scenic place, with lots of amazing sights you can't see from the rim. Watching and listening to the Colorado River flowing down the canyon has a calming/mesmerizing effect similar to sitting on the beach watching and listening to the waves roll in. I have friends who have rafted & kayaked down the canyon and they say that is an awesome experience in and of itself! A park ranger told us that the Grand Canyon receives 6 million visitors every year, but out of all those visitors, only 5% venture onto the trails and only 1% go all the way to the bottom of the canyon and the Colorado river. One of the purposes of this documentary of our trip is to share that experience with those who might never get the chance to do it themselves.
