We are living in a time when everyone is being encouraged to tell their story and this CAN be a good thing: sharing our stories can empower us and help others. We can also learn from them to avoid making the same mistakes. But sometimes, our stories can serve as excuses, and holding onto our stories can limit our potential and keep us from moving forward. Lisa Meschutt is a NYS STEM Master Teacher, Vice President of Super Heroes in Ripped Jeans Humane Society, Event Director for TEDxOneonta, and founder of Oneonta Adventure Club. She has been the recipient of many awards of excellence in education and most recently received an award for excellence in community service from the Oneonta Chapter DAR.
