Bobby Tyler from Tyler Gun Works in Friona, Texas, takes us on a tour of the beautifully customized Ruger® Blackhawk® he built in his shop. Inspired by the custom single-action revolvers of mid-20th century gun writers like Elmer Keith and Skeeter Skelton, it started life as a Lipsey's special item - a flattop Blackhawk chambered for one of the all-time great target cartridges, the .44 Special. Some tidbits to whet your appetite: an octagonal barrel with target crown, Power Custom No. 5 (Bisley) grip frame, mammoth ivory grips, and a full action job that includes endshake reduction and a sweet 2.5 lb. trigger pull. Don't forget the lustrous color case finish. Plus, a Fermin Garza front sight that's properly regulated with the adjustable rear so this Blackhawk really shoots to the point of aim.
