Fall is the time of bounty in the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast of British Columbia is no exception. All kinds of wild animals including bears, eagles, whales, seals, sea lions, wolves and more flock to the river banks to fish for pacific salmon as do fishermen and fisherwomen from all over the world. In addition to salmon, the west coast temperate rainforest provides countless will edibles to forage including a large variety of mushroom, plants and berries. Hidden throughout these majestical forests are incredible limestone caves. It is believed that people of the Stone Age - Cavemen and Cavewomen once utilized caves for several reasons including temporary shelter. However, it has been determined that contrary to popular belief, caves were NOT the home of our cave folk ancestors. They were likely nomadic and opportunistic.
