Bikepacking on a Brompton - Wild Camp - Mole River mini adventure - look how lovely Leatherhead is!

I love doing local cycling & wild camping adventures on my Brompton - easy, low cost, two-day mini bikepacking trips. This ride was along the River Mole, from its mouth at the Thames, through the North Downs, to its source in the green (and eventually a bit too boggy) Sussex Weald. This ride is one of a string of easy, "mini adventures" that I am doing, exploring the rivers that flow into the Thames. When I started doing these local, mini cycle tours, I didn't know whether they would work out. Inner London is not the most promising starting point for a wild adventure. But the rides have been great. I love the simplicity of it - pedalling straight from the door, and at the end, just a short train journey home. I've seen all sorts of hidden corners, and found loads of friendly people, as well as beautiful places of wildness, peace and solitude. Another thing is that, apart from my kit, this Brompton bikepacking weekend cost me £5.50, which was the cost of an Advance single ticket for the train home. Anyway! Happy cycling everyone!
