In this talk, Dr. Luna Centifanti discusses psychopathic traits among children, and their relationship to child problem behaviours. She also describes how actions of parents can contribute greatly to behavioural problems among their children. Luna suggests parents should pay special attention to their children's emotions, talking to them about their thoughts and feeling from an early age. Dr. Luna Centifanti is a Senior Lecturer in psychology at Durham University. She is a recognized expert on child psychopathic traits, where her work on the effects of callous-unemotional traits on behaviour during development earned her the Neville Butler Memorial Prize for longitudinal research. Dr. Centifanti has contributed to multiple books and academic journals on child psychopathology and mental health, and she is currently editing a handbook on the subject of developmental psychopathology.
