A Father-and-Son Survival Story | Nate Leipciger on Father’s Day | USC Shoah Foundation

Nate Leipciger survived the Holocaust at his father Jacob’s side. On multiple occasions, Nate’s life was spared by his father’s quick thinking and heroic tactics. To honor Father’s Day, we remember Jacob Leipciger and celebrate fathers who risk their own lives to protect their children. Nate Leipciger was born in Śląsk, Poland in 1928. He survived the Sosnowiec ghetto, and the Ampfing-Waldlager, Auschwitz I, Dachau, Flössberg, Fünfteichen, Gross Rosen, and Leonberg concentration camps. Nate was liberated by United States armed forces at Ampfing-Waldlager. In 1948, Nate and his father immigrated to Canada.
