In 2015, The Warning raised enough money on GoFundMe to release an EP of six original songs, titled Escape the Mind.During production of Escape the Mind, the band met record producer Jake Carmona, who would go on to mix the EP, and work alongside them writing and recording for The Warning on subsequent albums XXI Century Blood and Queen of the Murder Scene. The popularity of The Warning's cover of "Enter Sandman" led to a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 24, 2015. In addition to their GoFundMe page, they received funding from The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Target in order to attend a 5-week long summer program at Berklee College of Music.
