"Battle Hymn of the Republic" by Julia Ward Howe - RMC

"Battle Hymn of the Republic" Rusty Music Cover ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Battle Hymn of the Republic" is a famous American patriotic song written by Julia Ward Howe in 1861 during the Civil War. It was set to the tune of "John Brown's Body," a popular Union marching song. Howe, an abolitionist and social activist, was inspired to write the lyrics after visiting a Union Army camp near Washington, D.C., where she was moved by the soldiers' singing and their cause. The song represents the Union's fight as a righteous and divine mission, blending themes of justice, freedom, and the moral imperative of ending slavery. First published in the Atlantic Monthly in February 1862, it has since become a symbol of American patriotism and resilience. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I do not claim ownership of any images and/or artwork shared
