Super Women is a short-form documentary platform from two creatives Georgie Rogers and Alice Smith, dedicated to telling kickass stories of kickass women on film while furthering opportunities for female film-makers. Each film in the series highlights what it took for women to blaze the trail across music, motorsports, business, politics, tech and culture to realise their dreams in the most extraordinary ways. Our second featured super woman is Catherine Marks, the award-winning record producer and mix engineer. Catherine has made her mark producing records by The Big Moon, Wolf Alice, The Amazons, Local Natives and Frank Turner. In her career she has also done work as an engineer and mixer on records by Foals, PJ Harvey, The Killers and St Vincent's Grammy-winning Masseduction. In 2018 Catherine became the first woman to win the coveted Producer of the Year accolade at the Music Producers Guild Awards. In this episode Georgie Rogers visited Catherine at the studios of Flood and Alan Moulder in north-west London Assault and Battery, where she cut her teeth becoming one of the most sought after producers around.
