It was really satisfying to put it all together and make a full song out of it. When I write original songs, I like to start by thinking about the personality of the character I'm writing about, while also taking into account the overall vibe I get from the series itself. "What sound best fits who this character is?" "What kind of song would they want to hear?" That kind of thing. That train of thought resulted in this song. There was also a recent chapter of the manga which ended with Deku saying "I can't pretend I didn't see you crying out for help" or something along those lines, which has got to be one of his most character-defining moments in the entire series for me. I just couldn't help but include it in the song.
