Black People's Internal Racism & Hypocritical History | Dark Skin/Light Skin Conflict | Compilation

Can black people be racist? That’s for you to answer in a way that you can deal with. Based on the stories that you’ll hear in this video compilation, I believe that the answer is yes…and ESPECIALLY against each other. This is a mix of stories about celebrities, politicians, and ordinary people who had some strange notions about being black, and how well (or poorly) black people should treat other black people. The struggle dates back hundreds of years, but this video starts in the late 1800’s with a group of black people and mixed race people with fair complexions who decided that they were better than black people with dark skin. Of course the conflict didn’t end there. It only spread and continues today. This video explores the hypocrisy of the NAACP, the “founder” of Kwanzaa, and a number of black politicians who wanted justice and equality from their white counterparts, but often failed to extend that same equality to black people with dark skin or black women in general. You’ll hear how jazz great Nancy Wilson and Texas politician Barbara Jordan were both called the same derogatory name by two different black leaders. But, there is a bit of positivity too. You’ll hear it in the story about Harlem Renaissance big bandleader took a stand against a policy at the world famous Cotton Club - a policy that excluded women with dark complexions from dancing on their stage. Hang tight. It’s a lot. Ron Karenga, Jack Johnson, Oprah Winfrey and Curtis Graves. It’s another Hot Mess History scandal from Ti. Your source for the hottest scandals from 1870 - 1940. Whether you are looking for scandals from The Gilded Age, The Titanic, or The Great Depression…you can find them on this channel. Enjoy!
