Ravish Kumar visits the hub of biryani – old Delhi region to find out whether the vendors there suffer from harassment by the police or the groups that call themselves cow protection squads. Sohali Hashmi, historian, tells us that these squads and the police never dare to intrude into big restaurants or the chain outlets and only harass street vendors. He also explains the origins of biryani and says that the dish is culturally an Indian dish and did not come from 'outside' like being proclaimed by some people.
