Aarti - Aarta at Gurudwara Shaheedi Bagh Sahib (Anandpur Sahib)

Aarti-Aarta being conducted by the Nihang Singhs of Tarna Dal Misl Shaheedan, in the holy city of Anandpur Sahib (only a walking distance away from Takht Kesgarh Sahib [1 of the 5 Takhts of the Khalsa]). Also check out my article on the brief history of Dhup Deep Aarti at Anandpur Sahib/Kesgarh Sahib (both before/since the SGPC-era): http://www.puratanm.com/aarti/aarti-a... ‪@GianiBirbalSinghJi‬ starts the recitation of the Aarti-Aarta and concludes with the Ardas after the prayer. The Singhs at Gurdwara Shaheedi Bagh Sahib carry out the ceremony in accordance with the Maryada of Tarna Dal Misl Shaheedan. Giani Ji frequently uploads videos of the evening diwan on their YouTube channel, so do check it out! It took a lot longer than usual to complete this translation project. I tried to trace back some of the miscellaneous compositions to at least some manuscript or an artifact. There are still 3 verses I haven't been able to locate yet, but more research should be able to identify some Puratan source. The Aarti - Aarta prayers shown in this video appear on Pages 67 -103 in the Sandhyia Nitnem Gutka of Gurdwara Shaheedi Bagh Sahib : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1T6fM... According to Mukat Marag Granth, the Maryada for doing Aarti of Guru Granth Sahib Ji was discussed by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Abachal Nagar (Hazur Sahib). Guru Gobind Singh Ji suggested 5 Shabads from Guru Granth Sahib Ji to accompany the Aarti ceremony (which was to be done complete with Deeva Parkash - the lighting of lamps). Folios of a Puratan Mukat Marag Granth Manuscript (explaining the Maryada) are shown in the early part of this video. Most of Aarti-Aarta Video/Audio shown in this video project is primarily taken from the livestream footage of Hola Mohalla on Mar 29, 2021 There are also a few scenes from: Mar 27, 2021 Mar 19, 2022 Nov 14, 2020 (Diwali) The Aarti-Aarta done by Tarna Dal Misl Shaheedan somewhat resembles how the prayer is done at Takht Patna Sahib, where it is done without the Shabad Kirtan and starts with the bani from Guru Granth Sahib Ji. This differs from the Aarti-Aarta of Budha Dal, which starts with the bani from Sri Dasam Granth Sahib first (similar to how its done at Takht Hazur Sahib). Also see these clips of Budha Dal performing Aarti-Aarta at the Gurdwara Sahib near the administrative head office of Budha Dal right near Takht Damdama Sahib:    • Budha Dal Aarti Aarta      • Baba Balbir Singh Ji Budha Dal at Dam...   The links below show Aarti-Aarta being performed at Baba Bakala Sahib - The Administrative HQ of Tarna Dal Misl Shaheedan: June 2019 (Gurdwara Mata Ganga Ji Patshai 6 [Baba Bakala Sahib])   / 2427161314271808   December 2008    • Barsi of Baba Kirtan Singh Ji - Bhog ...      • Barsi of Baba Kirtan Singh Ji - Bhog ...      • Barsi of Baba Kirtan Singh Ji - Bhog ...      • Barsi of Baba Kirtan Singh Ji - Bhog ...      • Barsi of Baba Kirtan Singh Ji - Bhog ...   I am thankful to ‪@akaalilaalsingh96‬ for providing me a link to the following pothi called Sri Guru Khalsa Pothi (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZBZF.... This pothi contains an Aarti - Aarta prayer which resembles the Budha Dal version. Many of the Aarti Shabads from Sri Dasam Granth Sahib are also found within a manuscript called Aarti (shown in this video), preserved at SGPC's Sri Guru Ram Das Library in Amritsar (Manuscript Accession Number: 2713). The relevant folios of that manuscript are shown in this video starting from about 8:56 Punjab Digital Library has digitized the manuscript: http://www.panjabdigilib.org/webuser/... One does wonder, that if the Aarti - Aarta indeed had these exact compositions back in the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, that could be what popularized "Deh Shiva Bar Mohe" as an anthem of the Sikhs. The entire Aarti - Aarta is pretty much like an anthem itself and the sangat rises to participate in it. Gurdwara Shaheedi Bagh Sahib is the only major non-SGPC historical Gurdwara in Anandpur Sahib. The Gurdwara is managed by Tarna Dal Misl Shaheedan under the guidance of Sant Baba Gurdev Singh Ji (Baba Ji appears in this video at about 23:55 and joins before the Ardas). Thank you to all the supporters of this channel! With the blessings of Guru Sahib, the translation/explanation of this Aarti-Aarta has been presented to you, along with the notes. This is a humble plea for forgiveness for any mistakes please! Bhull Chuk Maaf Karni.
