Collaborative effort with ‪@ninzwz‬ Thumbnail by ‪@HyranAU‬ Sometime in late 2021 after I originally achieved 7dg, I was fairly convinced at the time that I would not feel that way about an achievement ever again. During this time period, some pretty major advancements would occur in the golden scene, with Clantis entering his own multi tier 1 skill phase in December of that year. Needless to say, his runs as well as Cr33pyCat's goldens were a constant inspiration for me from 7dg onwards. In the background, Tardigrade was working on a large summit styled map - estimated to be tier 0 in terms of golden difficulty. Throughout the following year, Clantis would chip away at this challenge - and after a year of playing, he was able to get it in January of 2023. A few months prior to this, I had been building up my own skill a significant amount, even taking the difficulty leap past the barrier of 7dg, and in October of 2022, I decided to give this map a shot for fun. Little did I know what would follow; since I enjoyed the map a lot, I wanted to see how far I could go in terms of goldening it. Shortly after Clantis' original golden, I lost motivation after a flag 16 pb. I had definitely made way more progress than I could have ever anticipated, but the golden seemed completely impossible regardless. And then, it just kind of sat there. Months followed and I would leave it mostly untouched - I would always try to come back to it on my own but to no avail; my motivation would just die out very quickly with every attempt. Fast forward to September, ninz would come out of nowhere and get this golden themselves after a seriously short grind for a challenge of this difficulty. Interestingly though, instead of outright discouraging me, this actually inspired me to come back for the final time; the number one reason for that were the new safe strats that ninz had discovered thanks to their absurd game knowledge. Seeing how this had easily become the most important golden in the game to me, I put the tier 1 compilation on hold to get back to wmfcg - this was only about 10 days ago or so. After redoing ae-end really quickly this time as well as getting a Calamity Ultra pb on my first golden session coming back, I knew that I had finally gotten good enough to where this golden would be feasible for me - such rapid progress was utterly unexpected and honestly left me dumbfounded. Then, the very next day, this day, I just. Did it. I haven't even processed my Calamity Ultra pb yet, and now I just have the golden somehow. This took me so fucking long, almost 100 hours longer than my original 7dg grind in 2021. The difficulty gap between this and the other tier 1's that I have done recently is incomprehensibly large. The difference between this and 9BB is like the difference between FWG and 1A. What now? I don't know, I'll figure it out I guess.
