How to replace Honda CRV timing chain DIY

Timing chain replacement on a 2003 Honda CRV with a K24 engine. In North America the Honda CRV comes with a K24 engine. Another viewer stated that in Europe and Asia they come with K20. Please order your parts according to your vehicle specifications.. The video is meant to be a guide to showcase the steps for replacing the timing chain for vehicles with these types of Honda K series engines... This is probably one of the most detailed videos I've made so far. so feel free to skip along...but be sure to check out the ending for some bonus laughs... This should be the same process for all the Honda Acura K series engines. Only slight exception would be the K23 RDX motor with the intercooler on top, but the timing chain removal and install should be the same. Accord drive belt replacement... Another video for the removal and install of the drive belt.    • How to change drive belt Honda Accord...   I purchased the parts from a local auto parts supplier.. If you need to search for parts, I suggest checking out RockAuto.com I find they have a good variety of inventory and pricing for auto parts. I have no affiliation with them. I occasionally order parts from them. Good luck with your repairs. Feel free to comment or ask questions and I'll try to answer to the best of my abilities. Cheers Notable queries; tools used: Crank Bolt...19mm socket drive belt tensioner adjustment... 14" double ended wrench. 14/17mm. Used 14mm end Q) How long does it take to do the job? A) Mitchell labour guide quotes 3.8hrs.... I didn't keep track of the amount of time it takes as I was filming and setting up camera for different angles and shot. Q) What's the torque spec? A) I'm not sure. I didn't torque the bolts to spec. Only hand tight. Use your own judgement on hand tight as the 10mm bolts are fragile if your hand torque spec is out of calibration.... (being sarcastic.. haha) I've done it this way forever and never had an issue of bolts loosening up. Feel free to find your own specs and torque to spec. NOTE: The engine will need to be jacked up a bit in order to remove the engine bracket once it's been unbolted. 24:15 Where I say I do a rotation, I made an error. I didn't do a full rotation. I turned counter clockwise a quarter turn and then rotated back clockwise to make sure the marks lined up ensuring we have the correct tension. That's the reason the marked teeth line back up. Disclaimer.... Take this video as a guide... Some info may or may not be correct as some of you keyboard mechanics have commented.. I challenge you to make a more correct and informative video.
