The difficulty is in getting your hands on those tools early in the game, the easiest thing to acquire is money. Using Money you can give yourself several advantages. This video covers how you can power level skills that are very useful for taking shortcuts in this game. Namely Thieving, Sneaking, Lockpicking and Assassinations.
