❤️Barry Ryan ~Judy~ Written By Barry Single 27.02.1976 Supersonic TV Show Audio Thanks to Stefan

#barryryan #Judy #supersonic #SupersonicTVshow #70smusic #70ssingle #76SupersonicTVShow #lovethissong #lovethissinger #lovethissongwriter ❤️ Barry Ryan with his own song ~Judy ~ a single released on the 27th of February 1976 and it was shown on the British Cult Music Show called Supersonic Show Episode 28 on the 13th March in 1976. Thanks to Stefan for remastering the sound for this TV performance so I could share this with you all. I created & uploaded this in loving memory of Barry & this is shared under the terms of fair use and is shared also to celebrate 🍒 Cherry Red Records 5 CD release for Barry's 5 solo albums now available on CD & an album never released before from 1977 as well as rarities added to this, you can buy yours from https://www.cherryred.co.uk/barry-rya... I love this song, I feel Barry proved what a good songwriter he was with these lyrics & the melody & theme of this song. It is interesting to note whilst this song seems to be about Judy Garland ( as it also has a slight melody from "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" featured & talks about the Wizard of Oz and its characters, there is an undertone of something deeper and more personal in between these lines. Judy's daughter Liza Minnelli was a friend of Barry's & Paul's mother & when Liza toured in 1986 in England Marion Ryan came along to keep her company. But the lyrics also somehow show the inner turmoil that Barry must have been dealing with at this stage of his life in regards to his musical career. His record company would not let him move into a more modern direction with his band The Verge & did not wish him to write or publish heavier material even though it was clear that music was changing & it was the logical way to evolve in 1970 to around 1972 when Barry was touring with the band & was writing some wonderful songs with William McKellar who was vocalist and lead guitarist in The Verge. They appeared on Top of The Pops with "Can't Let You Go" with Barry as well. The hits were not happening & Barry felt he was somehow not allowed to evolve his style and the UK press were also not especially gracious or kind. He must started to become disillusioned & yet he said he loved singing and felt he was born to sing. Reading in between the lines you feel his sadness. I also feel I can see this in his eyes. How I wish they had let him evolve his music & not pushed him into one corner. He was blessed with great talent in photography which was a blessing but I feel how wonderful it would have been had he & Paul continued performing and writing. I will add the lyrics and also German translation as a comment as well. Lots of love, Tia 💜 Judy By Barry Ryan Judy, making the best of your day Then you threw it all away They worked you and filled you with colourful friends To bring some comfort in your life But were they with you at the end? Oh Judy Judy, born in a trunk like a star It didn't get you very far Love came taking a toll on your life I know they tried to help you by I’m sure you tried to do it right Oh Judy All you left for me was a pool of tears All you left for me was a pool of tears Ah Judy playing along like a fool Why was the wizard so un cool And was he really such a friend? Oh Judy Judy where did the rainbow end Where did the rainbow end? März 1976 in der britischen Cult Music Show namens Supersonic Show Episode 28 gezeigt wurde.
