Today we are headed to what might just be the most picturesque village in Turkey! After our 4 day road trip along the Black Sea Coast, we finally made it to Rize, the heart of the tea producing region in Turkey. The hillsides in this area are all completely covered in tea fields. Not only is it very picturesque but we just happened to be here during the final week of the harvest so of course we had to get in on the action. We both tried our hand at "helping" with the tea harvest -- we of course were of no real help but it was really cool to see how they collect the tea. They use hedge clippers with a bag attached and trim just the top green leaves which then fall right into the attached bag. Or at least that is how it is supposed to work 😂. After a couple of nights in Rize, we made our way further into the Highlands. We left our rental car behind and hired a 4x4 to take us up to the small village of Pokut. Pokut is a small charming village located 2,170-meters above sea level. The weather was not the best, but it cleared enough from time to time for us to get incredible views of the surrounding mountains and the homes that line the plateau of Pokut -- all made from stone and wood, some of which are up to 250 years old. We really enjoyed our time in this lesser visited region of Turkey but now it's time to start making our way south! We have some really exciting places coming up next! :) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Some of our FAVORITE Camera Gear: Fuji XT3: https://amzn.to/3ow4n62 DJI Mavik Air: https://amzn.to/38r5kH7 GoPro Hero 7: https://amzn.to/3nuNPtR Rode VideoMic Go: https://amzn.to/3oznJHi Joby GorillaPod 5K: https://amzn.to/38rWsRF Save $65 on your first Airbnb! https://www.airbnb.com/c/jtonkinson We get all of our songs ROYALTY FREE from Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/referra...
