The outline on the Middie pays tribute to the traditional 70’s shapes. The wide point is forward offering lots of stability when paddling and jumping to your feet, and a tapered tail outline that’ll ‘hold in’ on steeper waves and offer plenty of manoeuvrability when pushing off your back foot. The versatile bottom has a subtle vee up front running into raised double concave vee through the back which creates a high level of response and a very sensitive feel for a board of this length and size. The EPS/Epoxy construction, with added timber deck inlay, strikes a nice balance between buoyancy, strength, weight and an aesthetic that’s visually stunning. The 2 + 1 fin set up is also a value add offering directional stability when turning. By definition, ‘Midlength’ surfboards borrow traits to a Mini Mal and Funboard such as paddle speed and buoyancy, but offer a higher level of performance with less area in the nose and tail, and more progressive bottom curves (Rocker).
