Vignette: Kinsey, Denise and Elizabeth (sisters) are going to therapy to try to get past the feelings they have for their father who was abusive to them when they were young. At a young age, their mother died, and shortly after, their father started to become angrier and more physically abusive. The abuse diminished as they got older, and he has since apologized for what happened. Now, the father is diagnosed with Alzheimer's and needs his children's help to function safely at home. However, the children have a difficult time being what he needs because of the past trauma. They have feelings of anger, resentment and bitterness, and they feel bad that they have these feelings. They are hoping to be able to move past the negative feelings and towards the more positive feelings.
