In February of 2023, we were tasked with documenting The Topanga Mall, located in San Fernando Valley, CA, in its current state. After being in contact with both the owners of mall and the sites security, we spent a day filming the empty stores, back hall ways and theaters. It was surreal. Having the mall entirely to myself, imagining the conversations had there, the first dates, the sheer amount of people and lives that have passed through that mall. The once bustling mall that now sits silent like a mausoleum.
