The original piece begins with a sad violin solo. Then a soft-sounding accompaniment (orchestral part) appears. The antiphonal melody is sung wistfully in the lower register. As the range widens and the piece grows grand, the wind instruments play the main melody part, and the violin plays a vivid passage over the main melody.
