Top 4 is purely my opinion at the time of recording this video. So, if you have different favorites of Scriabin's preludes, share them! I've actually got...well...at least 3 others that I really like, and I may record them eventually. I find these 4 preludes by Scriabin to be achingly beautiful. I prefer early Scriabin to late--as he got older, his music acquired more and more of a sick/disturbed quality. The early stuff is absolutely magical, though--he had a real gift for writing miniatures, and for weaving multiple melodies together, and for making wild but satisfying harmonies. Some of them have a relaxed nature that he never really revisits after he gets older. I hope this video helps you see some of that magic!
