If qualifying for the Canadian GP was spectacular then the race was even better: changeable weather, two Safety Car deployments and a bunch of significant overtakes combined to make Max Verstappens's victory for Red Bull one for the ages. McLaren's Lando Norris finished a titanic second, ahead of the two factory Mercedes drivers, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, and Oscar Piastri in the other McLaren. The Aston Martins finished sixth and seventh but Ferrari had a terrible day, retiring both cars after uncompetitive runs in the lower mid-field.
