After considering various ideas, it was decided to carry out the following five commemorative projects: (1) filming of karate kata preservation, (2) republication of the "Karate Do Collection," (3) compilation of the karate club history, (4) implementation of the 10-dan system, and (5) holding a commemorative demonstration tournament and a celebration party. Filming of a film 　In order to make this film successfully, it was necessary to clear the three essentials: (1) financial backing, (2) selection of a producer, and (3) correct kata demonstration. As a result of repeated study meetings led by Mr. Obata, the chairman of the committee, we were able to receive a subsidy of approximately 800,000 yen from the Koizumi Fund for the financial aspect, thanks to the efforts of our seniors and the cooperation of the school authorities. As for who would be in charge of filming, we were fortunate to be introduced to Eikichi Uematsu, a member of the athletic department and chief director of NET Television, by the athletic association of the school, and decided to entrust him with the filming of the event. For the demonstrations, we solicited requests from alumni and current students through a questionnaire, and finally selected those who had graduated after the end of the war. After several meetings with NET, we decided to postpone the filming, which was originally scheduled to take place before the end of the year, to next spring. On the other hand, it was decided to postpone the shooting to next spring. The Kendo Club of Hiyoshi was kind enough to let us use their kendo hall. On April 21, 1973, the first day of filming began at 9:00 a.m. and ended at 4:00 p.m. The second day consisted mainly of filming to explain some of the more difficult kata techniques, and ended at 3:00 p.m. The main part of the project, which had taken about a year to plan, was now complete. On the day of the filming, one of the scheduled crew members suddenly became ill and had to be replaced by an understudy, and some of the crew members were so nervous that they kept firing off NGs. The commentary was given in a clear tone by Miyoshi, an announcer specializing in sports on NET, and was appropriately inserted into the flow of the film about Keio karate, the fruit of fifty years of training, which gave the film an even tighter feel. In any case, all of the participants demonstrated their seriousness and devotion, and the film was completed in a way that would not embarrass them no matter where it was shown.
