I wanted to do Konkan bus journey many times before but the rains had spoilt my plans to travel. So finally got to do the journey. As you would know I love doing coastal us journeys. I have loved Malvan ever since I travelled there. I love the seafood and the beautiful NH 66 road. Since I had travlled many times to Malvan I decided to travel this time to Devgad. Most of the Konkan buses leave from Virar and go to various pickup points before joining the highway. Konkan buses usually go voa the old Mumbai goa road i.e. NH 66. However, due to the bad road conditions & landslides, it may go via alternate routes like Kolhapur. In our journey, the bus route was Mumbai - Pune - Malkapur - Talere - Devgad. We went via the Malkapur route through Ameni ghat and then joined the NH 66 road. I have also liked Sai travels before and finally got the opportunity to travel in it. The bus fare was Rs. 1000 and it scheduled to leave from Virar parking (Mnavelpada) by 1:15 pm. This bus then goes towards Powai and halts at Bhandup where a lot of passengers wait. The bus got full at Bhandup itself. We halted for dinner after finishing the Pune Expressway and there were so many Konkan buses there. Many buses like Mahalaxmi Travels, Thaneshwar Travels, Prajakta, Parijat, Sai, Rameshwar, Sultan travels etc. The bus was doing good speeds between 85 - 90 even though the bus was full and loaded with luggage. The bus crew was very supporitve and kind as well. The Ameni ghat was a new experirence as I never travelled on that route before. Also the fog at Amba Ghat was so dense that we coudl literally not see the road ahead. There was a good chase between Mahalaxmi travels and us on the Amba Ghat. I always love doing Konkan journeys and will travel atleast once a year. I hope you enjoy the video. Bus Info: Fare: 1000 Distance: 450 kms approx.
