MRI Scan is a test process where powerful and controlled magnetic fields, radio waves and computer technology amalgamate to produce highly detailed images of the inside of the human body The advantages of MR Imaging scan are 1. Doctors use an MRI scan examination to help diagnose such as Brain stroke, tumor & patients with seizures Assess for cases of body pain Joints pain Tumors of the abdomen or pelvis Heart problems etc MRI Scan Procedure An MRI scanner is like a short cylinder open from both sides. You will enter the MRI scanner either from the head or from feet, depending on the part that is being scanned. A computer is used to operate the MRI scanner. Sometimes, a contrast material is used intravenously during the MRI exam majorly gadolinium contrast (In MRI with Contrast). More pictures will be captured during or following the injection. The entire MRI procedure may take 15-90 minutes. MRI Scan Preparations You will be asked to wear a loose clothes or gown. No metal objects must be present in the scanners. Individuals cannot go for an MRI scan if they have any metal objects inside their body, such as bullets, shrapnel, cochlear implants, pacemakers, etc. Women should always tell their doctor and technician if they are pregnant. Time Taken For MRI Scan Reports After the completion of the MRI scan examination, these pictures can be transferred to a hard copy and a CD The radiologist analyse the MRI images in the form of a report. A MRI scan procedure lasts 15 to 90 minutes depending on the body part being scanned and the number of pictures being taken. MRI Reports available within 6-24 hours of the procedure in the maximum cases.
