Peak Tyre Efficiency (Gran Turismo 4)

As an experiment, I decided to try and build the least tyre-efficient car possible in Gran Turismo 4 using hybriding. This was the result: a Dodge Ram with the Jay Leno Tank Car chassis (and an extra 200kg ballast all the way to the front), the Subaru 360's super soft racing tyres, the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak's drivetrain, and the TVR Cerbera Speed 12's engine. Tyre dimensions play a big role in determining durability, and because the Subaru 360 has the narrowest tyres in the game, it was a natural choice. The Tank Car has the heaviest chassis in the game by far, with sub-par grip modifiers as well, and the Escudo has the least drivetrain inertia of all 4WD's, meaning both the front and rear are doing as much work as possible most of the time. The Speed 12 has both a ton of torque at all RPM's (especially when combined with a supercharger) and a high peak power, which helps to push the car when it weighs such an insane amount (and also creates more wear too, of course). With the tyres degrading at such a ridiculously quick rate, it actually highlights quite well how certain actions can quickly wear your tyres. Seeing the tyres degrade rapidly while driving on Nürburgring's curbs in the rolling start was quite a shock for me. Music used: Night birds - Yudai Satoh Afterglow - Satoshi Bando
