Code Vein - Level 1/Solo/No-Hit - Butterfly of Delirium (Boss 2)

I wonder if this boss was originally planned to be fought later in the game. Her moveset is comparable to that of a midgame boss, and the Venom makes getting hit extremely punishing. However, this boss is the first example supporting one of the reasons I very much prefer Code Vein to the Souls games, as much as I happen to like those as well. From the very first “real” boss, you have to dodge each hit of combos - this doesn’t happen in the Souls games proper until very late, if at all. Compare this to the Abyss Watchers, where you can dodge one swing, then backpedal (in both phases), or almost any boss in Dark Souls 1 because most of them barely have combos. Bosses in this game have “close” and “far” AI that determines which set of attacks they choose from. Typically you want one or the other, as some attacks are harder to deal with than others. For the Butterfly, you’re stuck swapping between them because so many of her attacks force you to back off by creating huge areas of Venom clouds. The tracking venom orb with the rush attack (which she loves to do) is by far the most annoying combination of attacks pre BB&C, but you can break the venom orb with projectiles. This attack is the sole reason I didn’t add a “no magic” stipulation to this playthrough. The rush attack by itself is still one of the hardest attacks to avoid for me, but a roll to the side and a Shifting Hollow is usually enough. Unfortunately, you gain access to Flame Weapon immediately after you’ve killed the boss. However, Blazing Roar does something like 1800 damage to her with an adequate Blood Veil which is almost 10% of her HP.
