While climbing around in a pile of core engines, I noticed the user-installed inspection ports and knew this one was special. This is a 3.3L Lambda GDI V6 from a 2016 Kia Sorento. These engines make 290hp and seem to be pretty unreliable just based on the demand in the secondary market. However, I don't think you could blame the manufacturer for this one. WOW, that's all I can say about this. Why do I do these? I own and run a full service salvage facility in the Saint Louis area called Importapart. Part of our model is dismantling core engines to salvage the good parts. We do not rebuild engines, merely supply parts to those that do. I hope you enjoyed this teardown.
